This Global Firm are looking to recruit a bright and personable Real Estate Disputes associate to join their impressive London team.
The team are recruiting a Real Estate Disputes solicitor to join the London team and are looking for candidates who have 1 - 3 years post-admission experience in handing real estate dispute matters. The successful candidate will ideally have gained experience in a City firm or large regional practice.
You will work alongside partners and associates across the real estate sector to provide technically excellent, commercial advice to the team's diverse client base.
Essential skills and experience:
You will already have acquired experience in real estate disputes and will be able to contribute to professional development and know-how initiatives and participate in training where appropriate.
You will be effective in communicating with clients in order to understand their needs and how best to meet them. You will also have the ability to assist clients in arriving at practical and cost effective solutions.
You will be ready to become involved with business development, including client seminars, article writing in the trade press and cross-selling.
You will have a strong academic background and excellent communication and organisational skills.
You will have excellent attention to detail, identifying inconsistencies that indicate problems with quality of work or a misunderstanding of clients' needs.
You will gather information from a variety of sources to identify your own strengths and weaknesses.
You will be ambitious and highly motivated and be willing to go the extra mile in your contribution to the wider Real Estate group.
You will have excellent matter management skills including in relation to client and court deadlines, and billing.
You will be a team-player who can work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
You will have a commercial approach.

Our Real Estate Disputes team advises on a wide range of contentious issues and has particular expertise in working with property investment companies and investment funds, commercial landlords, occupational tenants, commercial property developers, retailers, technology companies and banks on their property disputes. The team regularly advises on dilapidations, breach of covenant claims, contractual disputes including options and guarantees, service charge and rent review disputes, telecoms, development disputes, possession claims, rights of light, insolvency and property aspects of corporate restructurings.
The team currently consists of a partner, two senior associates, an associate, a trainee and a legal apprentice.
The team are regularly quoted in the national and property trade press as the 'go to' for expert opinion on real estate dispute issues and high profile judgments.

Acting for Hines on its three acquisitions in London's West End in 2020 - 7 Soho Square, New Bond Street and Grain House on Drury Lane and the rights of light strategy for these developments.
Acting for Westfield on their major retail led developments at White City, Stratford and Croydon, including successfully defending an application for pre-action disclosure in the High Court, Chancery Division.
Acting for Mapeley STEPS Limited in connection with High Court proceedings on behalf of the UK Government concerning the interpretation of a break option in a lease of premises at Bradford Centenary Court.
Advising IBM in relation to all contentious, and potentially contentious, aspects of its UK property portfolio, including its UK headquarters rent review.
Advising FRP Advisory in relation to the portfolio sale of the Carluccio's restaurants to the Boparan Group and defending forfeiture actions in relation to three stores included within that sale
