Our London Commercial Disputes team is ranked in Chambers, the Legal 500 and by the Global Arbitration Review and acts on some of the largest, most complex disputes in the UK and internationally. It is also a centre of excellence for several specialisms, including: fraud and asset tracing, corporate transaction and private equity disputes, logistics and distribution disputes, oil and gas disputes and international arbitration, as well as more general commercial dispute work) for major global corporates and governments.
Due to our continued growth, we are recruiting an Associate.
They will have exposure to high quality work and the opportunity to develop their skills further, learning from direct experience but supported by partners and senior lawyers. The continued success of the team creates real opportunities for merit-based promotion.
The role involves working on a broad range of work. You will have the opportunity to work on large cases as well as taking more responsibility for smaller standalone matters. You will also have active engagement with clients and colleagues across the business as well as being involved in business development.
Skills and Experience:
We are looking for:
Strong technical skills, commercial acumen and excellent academic qualifications
Ability to analyse complex factual situations and distil the key issues clearly and concisely and persuade others through logical reasoning. You will provide a first rate client service both internally and externally
Evidence of exposure to clients/counsel/experts is desirable.
Exposure to business development activities and a good understanding of how to win work is desirable
Strong communication skills to build effective relationships with existing and new clients, introducing clients to other teams or practice groups
Can do’ attitude and prepared to go the extra mile to ensure we are able to meet our clients’ needs
